Weekly recap

Because today was a holiday and I didn't have to work I keep thinking it is Sunday, which is really confusing me. The last week I feel I may have turned a corner, I feel like the light switch is back on.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday- ate fairly well but definitely needs improvement. relied to heavily on some food crutches, ie: peanut butter and rice cakes. Weighed in and down a pound.

Thursday- back on track food wise, but I need to stop buying rice cakes. oh and marshmallow bananas I love those candies so yummy yet so evil.

Friday- day off of work, had lunch out with my mom, though I was afraid of eating out, I didn't do too badly and still came within my calorie range for the day. Hit the gym and the pool.

Saturday- work but went for a nice walk in the evening.

Sunday - Hit the gym and had a great workout. Attended a virtual wedding party. We all hung out at a pub and watched a friend get married live over a webcam. I did eat out again but still maintained my calorie range. I wore one of my new shirts, and I felt pretty good, thought I looked okay until my friend posted the photos on face book, but I may be over critical of myself.

Monday- Happy Victoria day. Went on my first long walk with my dog, just over an hour and managed to make it home just in time before the rain hit. The trail was still a bit too soggy so during that part I ended up walking off trail a bit and along fallen trees. I really need to work on my balance, I was convinced I was going to fall and break something, or at least have to walk all the way home covered in mud. Thankfully neither occurred. Came way under calorie range today, weird it doesn't feel like I ate any less.

I started tracking everything again and it really has helped me feel more in control, but I am feeling that way in my non weight loss life. Circumstances at work have changed where a very stressful element has been removed, making my daily life better. Oh and water, I have jumped back on the water bandwagon.

I Give thanks......

For the beautiful 21 0C day after two weeks of gloomy weather that allowed me be outside today

For the city I live in, and all it's neat trails and facilities that allow me to get active for cheap

For my Country, I am free, I have rights, I have freedom of expression, I have Health Care!

For my Job, when so many others are without one

For my dog, who is my constant companion, and walking buddy

For my friends, the few yet brave! Those who I can vent to and be silly with.

For my Gran who I can so easily make proud with the simplest of tasks.

For my Mom, who's love and support I have never been in doubt of and I know I will always have.

For the past, it has made me what I am today

For the present which I live working on myself

For the future, and the person I hope to become.

For so many things I just can't name because we all take them for granted everyday

Finally broke the 350 mark

Yeah! Took me awhile but I finally broke that number! I lost 4 lbs this week to go down to 349. Another 19 lbs and I will no longer be lying on my drivers licence (ha like anyone tells the truth on those).

I am practically giddy over that number. It's kinda weird, I think it has something to do with being closer to 300 lbs now then 400 lbs. Or I just like kicking round numbers in the ass!

30 lbs gone.

"As I accept this award.....wait no award? damn it I had a speech ready and everything, I would like to thank the academy, oh wrong award ceremony. Okay here it goes.....I would like to thank the local swimming pool, my MP3 player for kick ass tunes while I walk, my dog for walking me, my calorie counting app, bloggers that inspire me, and of course myself for keeping with it. I could not have done this without you"

So far so good.

If only I could blog more regularly.

Walking on a Sunny Sunday afternoon

BDW (Best dog in the world) and I went for a nice long walk on Sunday. It was beautiful out, despite the rain all week, the trail was dry. Also it was sunny but not too hot, actually at times the breeze almost made it too cool. Here in Canada it was a long weekend, the unofficial start of summer, so there were a lot of people on the trails enjoying the good weather.

BDW raring to go

the trail I was on borders and goes up the escarpment

I love the scenery, Makes you forget you are burning calories

hard to believe I wasn't in the middle of the woods, but was actually surrounded by the city, here is the overlook of the lower city

Our walk took 1 hour and 40 mins, and was a whole 6 km! I had thought I would go only half way but I was feeling so good, we just kept going down the entire trail, and back again. My one heel was really sore the next morning but it was totally worth it.

P.S. I am totally loving google maps with the satellite images right now, even though it feels a little "Big Brother" to be able to zoom right down to my apartment building...

The best exercise equipment in the world

And it looks like this....

Meet the best Dog in the world, and I don't say that lightly. This little guy with the big attitude has been a joy in the family for just over seven years. I call him the best exercise equipment for quiet a few reasons:

1) He needs to go out a few times a day, and even though he sleeps most of the day and really doesn't demand or need long walks like other breeds, he Loves them when we go on a big walk.

2) You never feel weird out walking when you have a dog, everyone looks at the dog, not at the big person walking him (or at least that is what I like to think)

3) He isn't judgmental If your going too slow well then there is just more time to sniff and mark trees! He never thinks, " God if you did a bit more walking maybe you wouldn't be so fat"

4) At the same time he gives you motivation, he want's to know "What's over the next hill? Whats around the bend?" His excitement and joy for the walk never ends. (Unless it is raining, he really really hates getting wet)

5) he doesn't get put away to gather dust under a bed or in a closet, he isn't a fad or a phase in your exercise regime (well at least not for me!)

Anyways I love my dog, my companion, and I finally got to showcase him on here a bit, I am sure he will make many appearances in the future.
